Dance Classes

New classes for beginners start each September and other times during the year when needed.

Beginning square dancing, or the first level of square dancing, is called Mainstream. When we hold Mainstream square dance classes, they are also at the YMCA on Thursday evenings, 7:00 pm – 8:45 pm. Experienced dancers are welcome as angels to assist new dancers, to refine mainstream skills, or just to have fun! Modern square dance lessons are taught in a progressive manner, whereby learning each step bridges to the next. The first two lessons/classes in a series are free; donations are requested for each class in the series thereafter. Stay tuned for more details. Plus-level classes are for couples who already dance at the mainstream level, are scheduled based on interest, and normally include 10 classes/sessions.
